Measuring 30cm diameter and approximately 8cm tall, he sits discreetly in the corner when not in use. He can rest either in his dock if he is being used in the automatic/timer mode whereby he sets to work automatically at a pre-set time, or he can be plugged in directly if used manually. (He can't be used automatically in this mode because he is connected to the mains by the power lead - hence the need to use the dock for automatic use, giving him freedom to move freely.) Alternatively he can be used in non-timer/manual mode whenever you wish by simply pressing the start button on his remote control.

A robot vacuum cleaner is ideal for any household which doesn't particularly enjoy vacuum cleaning, for busy households who like to return to a freshly vacuumed home after a day out at work or the elderly or disabled where vacuum cleaning can be a challenge. Left to his own devices, he chooses his own route around a room sweeping as he goes. The pattern appears random but it is actually effective and nowhere within a room is missed. Then, once the battery runs down in timer mode, he returns to his dock to recharge. (In non-timer/manual mode. He stops at the point where his battery fades.)

Changing from different floor types presents no problem: his wheels are rugged, deeply sprung and give very good traction enabling him to adapt from tiles or laminate to carpets or rugs and then back again as he moves from room to room. He can also negotiate height differences of 2" with ease - something many other Robot-vacs struggle with and usually they get stuck.

If used while you're in the home then he can be used in one room while you sleep in the next or on the storey above or below - he is quiet in use and won't keep you awake. Similarly, if he's used in a lounge or home office then he isn't too noisy to be distracting or annoying and can be used while watching TV or holding a phone conversation - unlike a conventional manual vac. The robot vac won't give the same level of cleaning that a high-powered vacuum cleaner can offer, particularly for deeper pile carpets but it will certainly sweep up crumbs, dust, pet hair and fur (tested on our house-rabbit's far), small pieces of thread and other normal bits which find their way onto domestic floors. In the manual mode, via the remote control unit he can be switched into 'spot' mode whereby he goes over the same spot repeatedly where additional cleaning is required, or in 'edge' mode will clean alongside a skirting board, or similar. After use, all of our floors - laminate, tiled, low and medium pile carpets and even our rugs looked fresh and clean. He has been used throughout the entire home - 3 bedrooms, bathroom, kitchen, lounge, shower room, home office and has never become jammed or stuck. If he navigates into a corner then he'll turn himself around and find his way out so he can be left unattended while you do something more interesting - although he can be fun to watch!

He is perfect for pet homes. We have a house-rabbit who sheds a lot of fluff and fur, tends to scatter food pellets, grass and hay and can be a little messy. The V3sPro doesn't worry him in the least.

The V3sPro is well designed for unsupervised use. He can leave his dock, navigate around furniture without bumping into it, find his way across a landing and when he reaches the edge, he stops and withdraws so is safe to use near stairs with no risk of tumbling down. The only precaution you do need to take is to not have any thin cables trailing eg USB cables, mouse cables or charger cables because he gobbles these up, they get caught in his wheels and he grinds to a noisy halt.

After use the dust container will need emptying. This is one of the best designs I have seen on a robot vac - just flip up the top and lift it out. Many others involve tipping the vac over which can be a dusty job and tip some dust in the process. Emptying from the top is a much cleaner method.

The HEPA filter needs to be replaced every 6 months - but two spares are very generously included (pack states just one but there were two in mine) along with two spare side brushes and a cleaning too.

There is nothing to fault with this Ilife V3sPro robot vacuum cleaner. It's a well-built, well-designed, efficient and effective little workhorse which can keep your floors looking clean and fresh with no human effort. Its predecessor has kept our carpets, rugs, tiles and lino looking smart for the last year downstairs and this younger brother is now doing likewise upstairs on our carpets, rugs and laminate flooring along with sweeping up our house-rabbit's shed fluff.

Definitely recommended and a fraction of the price of the original (and expensive) Roomba models. Well done Ilife - once again!
