On Saturday, 14 April 2018, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia participated in International Food and Crafts Bazaar organized by Association of Diplomatic Spouses in Namibia and Franco Namibian Cultural Center at FNCC, Windhoek.

During the event, we promoted Indonesian culinary, screening of Indonesian Tourism videos at FNCC Cinema and Maumere line dancing performance by Embassy Staffs, Women Association of the Embassy and Indonesian Community in Windhoek.

Later on, some Bazaar goers joined in the fun and got "hit" by Maumere "fever".

Maumere dance is inspired by a folk song Gemu Fa Mi Re. Gemu Fa Mi Re originally was a welcoming song for visitors to Maumere, a regency in Flores (the capital province of East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia).

Due to its popularity and catchy tunes, Maumere dance was then converted to dance exercise and usually done by a large crowd such as troops, or communities in big events all over Indonesia and overseas.
