A modern, yet tropical home set in a lush coconut plantation, the house is reminiscent of “Guthu mane”, a traditional Mangalorean House, though with a modern twist. The architect has attempted to revive the essence of a traditional tropical home with a desire for contemporary design, key in developing a floor plan for the home.

The 18,270 sq.ft. site area was part of farmland over which a 5,600 sq.ft., 4-bedroom house has been built.

Founder and Principal Architect Rachana Maroli narrates the design process, providing us with insights into the intent and construction of this modern Guthu Mane.
