Why Dishonored Is An Immersive Sim Classic

Dishonored launched in late 2012 to critical acclaim by fans and critics, and sold far above expectations. This was a AAA-based game on a new IP late in a generation, which companies like EA or Ubisoft say don't sell well (an excuse). Yet, Dishonored broke through that Immersive Sim sales curse and went on to do very well. Too bad Dishonored 2, also a fantastic game, didn't sell quite so well.

This Dishonored review, analysis, retrospective, and critique looks at why the game works, where it falls short, and why it sold so well.
