AMGが作り出したCクラスセダンのC55。
極めて強力なエンジンと強化された車体やサスペンションを持ち、サーキットなどスポーツ走行にも適合しており、通常モデルよりも強固でハードな乗り味の車に仕立てられていることがAMGモデルの特徴である。

エクステリア面ではAMGアルミホールや控え目なエアロパーツを装着。インテリアはレザー仕様で、300km/hスケールのスピードメーターなどが装着される。

ミッションは5AT、4輪ブレーキ独立制御&エンジン出力制御のエレクトロニック・スタビリティ・プログラムなども装備する。

AMGによりチューニングされた、V型8気筒SOHC24バルブエンジンは、最高出力347ps(255kW)/5500rpm、最大トルク52.0kg・m(509.9N・m)/3000rpmを発揮し、0～100km/h加速は5.5秒であった。
