BAe 146-200 - 4 Engines 4 Short Haul 4 Ever, WDL feat. easyJet early morning flight in 4K

The UK is (or more or less was) known for pioneering civil air transportation. Many designs are forgotten but meant a leap for air transport, such as the grand Hawker Siddeley Trident. Never the less nearly all British aircraft failed on the free market. As a sidenote, UK designs were always a bit off normal appearances. Trident was first to feature three (and four for the three B) tail mounted engines, Comet was a first try at jet air travel, VC-10 was well known for it's four tail mounted engines... and then there is this little fella called the 146 that only had four engines, because the wings were to small to fit six onto them (as a joke has it).

The BAe 146 was the most successful British airliner in history and marked the end of sole UK civil air transport aircraft manufacturing. With a bit less than 400 copies sold, this airliner can still be seen around the globe. Most of the remaining aircraft are newer RJ modifications of the basic 146 design. A classic BAe 146 is a rare sight today, and also this WDL baby is more than thirty years old...

... so every chance to fly one needs to be taken. easyJet offers great fares for shorter sectors with the BAe operating from Tegel to Zurich, Paris and Vienna until Summer 2018. Then it's again the boring easyJet Airbus flying around! So enjoy while you can!
