Spent Fuel Storage at Diablo Canyon Power Plant
On-site dry storage systems, approved and licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), are being used safely at nuclear power plants across the country to store spent nuclear fuel. This video shows the process of taking the used fuel from the spent fuel pools, located inside the Diablo Canyon Power Plant's fuel handling building and safely transporting it to the on-site dry storage facility.
