Owl abandoned by parents becomes Blandford 'Wildlife Ambassador'
Sarah Chertos, a wildlife education specialist at Blandford Nature Center in Grand Rapids, talks about a barred owl named Baby at the center on Tuesday, May 7, 2024. Baby is one of Blandford’s “Wildlife Ambassadors” that permanently live at the center due to severe injuries and now educate the community with a close-up view of wildlife not often seen in outdoor exploration. Baby came to the center in 2011 after being abandoned by her parents due to having juvenile cataracts in both eyes. (Cory Morse | MLive.com)
