3 Tips for Powerful Practice at Home | Ashtanga Yoga
Yoga Talks with Ethan Ward (Ashtanga Yoga Authorized Level 2 teacher) | Posted: May 2020
In this video I'll share three tips for practicing Ashtanga Yoga at home. This advice may be valuable to yogis who are already regular home practitioners, or for students transitioning from their shala to integrating new self practice, as many yoga students around the world will need to do at this time - during the Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. I'll cover aspects like working daily Ashtanga practice into your routine, moving through the sequence with efficiency and a solid understanding of the vinyasa count (for whichever series you happen to be practicing) which is an area that just about any Ashtanga student can safely move into and make progress even without the observation of a teacher... And finally, staying consistently positive & motivated. Integrating your yoga practice at home can truly be the most rewarding and introspective stage on your journey in Ashtanga Yoga & I would love to be able to help more yogis around the world to experience that. If you have any Q's for me on this - feel free to fire away in the comments. All of the advice presented in these videos is purely based on my own experience and any other tips that you feel should be added to this list will be deeply appreciated by everyone watching these and reading along, so don't be shy!
My Youtube page is braaand new & I hope to use it as a more creative outlet to communicate directly with my yoga students around the world. I'm happy to do a more videos & add value to Ashtanga students wherever it is needed. I'll add a couple of tutorial videos or how-to's to this Youtube channel soon - Keep an eye! Of course you are very welcome to subscribe to this channel & be patient while I hopefully start to get good at making videos soon!
Actual Love to all

My quote for the day is "Slow is smooth, and smooth is fast"... Ashtangis know that this is true. Turns out it's originally from the navy seals. Still not sure where I would have heard it first tho...
