NEXX WT3020 has 2 Ethernet ports, powered by µUSB and has std USB socket. Marketed as compact portable mini WiFi NAS Router, setup in different modes to access other computers or storage. If you go to a business meeting and need to share files, this will share from NAS USB stick or hard drive. Extend network and internet access. At a party set it up to send music or video. Power by power bank drawing less 200mA power it for a couple of hours. Power from USB port laptop or phone charger. Start config put power, go to WiFi setting and see nexx router open no pass code or pin. In browser put IP 192.168.8.1 see options home and dorm, hotel AP, Wi-Fi NAS. Most settings leave at default. WiFi settings, set security if needed. Hit apply it will reboot. From the WAN port put cable to ISP cable modem, ADSL, whatever. Connect devices fixed cable or WIFI mobile, laptop, tablet etc. In the status on the Internet side it’s connected successfully and got IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and DNS server. Go to Google and see internet service. Next config is NAS, similar config as before add pen drive to share files, music, videos etc to other devices. NAS access server by samba, ftp or DLNA. Put drive makes directory list of content. Test it go search box put \\192.168.8.1 and login. Content of drive shared direct from server. Simple config, very useful. Access point/hotel mode. Setup to share wired connection with WiFi devices provide hub function. As you hover over this you see in the bottom left-hand corner “ov.bridge”, AP config only thing you can change is WiFi SSID and enable security in hotel environment. WAN side act as bridge, apply router take 10 20 second to reset. To go back to the menu from this mode need to press reset button and reset it. Repeater mode, connect existing Wi-Fi and repeat it to pick up from other devices. Used when too far away form phone or tablet to pick up the signal direct, so put this device halfway between your device and the source of the signal. Wi-Fi repeater mode scans and finds networks it can connect to and choose one of those networks and it will fill in the information channel number and SSID, leave those the same so that your device works if near to the original WiFi or near repeater. Put Wi-Fi password and connect. Status will show connected successfully. I’ve taken a look at the 4 modes of the router and I am impressed with it. No excuse for not packing it when on business trip or holiday. If you get stuck you can probably save the day by pulling this out and setting it up. There is more to this router I would like to cover, some of the things that you can do between Android devices say smartphone and tablet but that will be something for another review.
