Target These Notes When You Improvise
►►Download the lesson files http://bit.ly/2ODMYZc
In today's video, we are going to talk about the notes you should target when you improvise. For this, we will be using an E Ionian backing track.
There are no set rules for which notes you should target. With that being said, we need to recognize that there are some notes more stable than others.
For targeting these notes, is important that you are comfortable with arpeggios. Try the E major seventh and hear the sound of every note when you land on each one.
Listen to the three remaining notes in the E Major scale: the second, the fourth and the sixth. These notes have a more open sound.
The key is to find the balance between the stable notes and the open ones.
