In this video: I go IN DETAIL about my first few weeks as a college freshman and my experience moving in and being a part of new student orientation.

More about the attire for NSO (Spelman):
1. DRESSES: Professional dresses and sundresses; dresses should not be worn more than two inches above the knee. Any dress with a visible tank top, spaghetti straps, tube top, or halter top must be accompanied by a blouse or cardigan.
2. SKIRTS: Professional and business casual skirts. Skirts should not be more than two inches above knee. Please, no shorts or denim.
3. TOPS: Shirt and blouses. Tank top, spaghetti straps, tube top, or halter top must be accompanied by a blouse or cardigan. No t-shirts.
4. FOOTWEAR: Casual shoes, sandals, pumps and flats are a must. No flip flops, sneakers, and/or tennis shoes.
5. HEAD COVERINGS: Wearing head coverings in and outside the classroom is inappropriate at all times, unless for religious purposes.

White Attire Tradition
The following are guidelines for the White Attire Tradition:

• The dress, skirt or suit must be pure white, not eggshell, ivory or taupe.
• The fabric of the dress, skirt or suit must be an appropriate weight and material.
• The length of your dress, skirt or suit must not be shorter than two inches above the knee.
• Eveningwear, see-through materials and/or clingy knits are inappropriate.

Black pumps and nude hosiery are required as part of the White Attire Tradition. Open toe shoes are
inappropriate. Remember to keep in mind that you represent Spelman College and her rich history. As such,
your attire must be suitable for the occasion.
