The plan for the development of the Armed Forces of Russia for the next decade has been finally approved. Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin in an interview with the newspaper Kommersant said that President Vladimir Putin signed the state arms program (GPV) for 2018-2027. About 20 trillion rubles will be allocated for equipping the army, aviation and navy. These funds will go for the purchase of new weapons, as well as the modernization of combat equipment. The minimum task is to bring the share of modern "iron" in the troops to 70 percent by 2021. Ground troops
Particular attention in the state program is given to general-purpose forces - the Land Forces (SV) and the Airborne Forces. According to the media, about a quarter of all the money put into the GPV will be spent on their rearmament - about 4.25 trillion rubles. It's no secret that there are still quite a few relatively old equipment in the arsenals of military equipment. Obviously, the new state program is designed to correct the bias caused by the previous LGP, in which general-purpose forces received less money than other types and kind of troops.
Of course, most of all the army is waiting for a new main battle tank. The T-14 is the world's first OBT of the third generation. Its main difference from other machines, both domestic and foreign, is the uninhabited tower. The crew is in a special capsule cabin, securely covered with frontal armor. In addition, the T-14 received a new smooth-bore 125mm gun 2A82, complexes of dynamic (Malachite) and active (Afghanistan) defense, modern means of communication, radar, a reliable fire control system and many other technological know-how. First of all, new cars will be delivered to the troops of the Western Military District.
In addition to the T-14, the Land Forces will receive a new modification of the T-90 - T-90M tanks with the 2A82-1M gun (as in "Armata") within the new SPV. About three dozen of these machines will be delivered to the troops in the next two years. In addition, a huge park of old-good T-72 will continue to upgrade to the modern version of the T-72B3. The artillery of the Ground Forces will be strengthened by the promising self-propelled guns "Coalition-SV", which did not fit in the terms of the previous GPV. It is known that 12 vehicles of this type until 2020 will undergo experimental operation in the troops.
Strategic Missile Forces
The surface component of the Russian "nuclear triad" will continue to be strengthened by the well-proven Topol-M and Yars complexes. In addition, in the coming years, the prospective RS-26 Rubezh and RS-28 Sarmat will begin to take on combat duty. The first missile is the further development of the RS-24 "Yars". The launcher will be placed on a mobile wheeled chassis, and the missile will carry at least three combat blocks with a capacity from 150 to 300 kilotons each. The range will be up to 12 thousand kilometers. "Sarmat", in turn, will replace in the troops heavy missiles R-36M2 "Voevoda" (better known by the NATO nickname "Satan"). According to open sources, it will be able to carry up to 15 combat blocs and beat it at a range of up to 16,000 kilometers. These advanced missiles will receive technical capabilities for the breakthrough of existing and prospective missile defense systems.
