Our home is completely off the grid meaning we are not tied into any public utilities at all. We provide ourselves with our own power, water and waste disposal. We have a massive solar power system that runs our home but we believe strongly in having backup systems for emergency instances which is why today we are installing a whole house Generac generator. This 13kw generator will be tied directly into our solar power system so when the generator senses our battery levels are low it will automatically kick on and recharge our batteries.

We are a couple who are building our own home from the ground up in the mountains of West Virginia. After living near the city our entire lives we finally decided to sell it all, pack up our 3 kids and live in an RV on our 73 acres while building our own debt free, off-grid house and learning to live a more self-reliant life.
