Sofia Buses | Freshly Renovated Ikarus 280.59 & Irizar ie tram Test Bus

On 14.01.2020 at Alexander Nevsky cathedrale we finally had the chance to go through the centre of Sofia by Ikarus 280 again. In 2015, after the arrival of new MAN Lion's City G CNG buses, these Ikaruses were scrapped. One lucky bus (#2412) was saved and restored in original condition. After 5 years of this model completely gone from the roads of the city, it was presented to the transport lovers along with a new Irizar ie tram bus.
There are rumors about another Ikarus with manual transmission still alive and will eventually is going to be restored in original condition. We will see what the future has in store for us.
