【Loomis method】Head proportions demonstration with Max Baumgardner

In this video artist Max Baumgardner demonstrates the basic head proportions. This technique is loosely based off the Loomis Method, a method developed by Andrew Loomis. This method is an easy to remember and popular way to start a portrait drawing or painting. The video starts off with three simple line drawings of the head proportions, a front view, a side view, and a three quarters view. At the end of the video the artist shows how these are practically applied to drawing a real person's face, his own.

マックス先生による頭をシンプルに描く描き方動画です。アンドリュールーミスの基礎人物画メソッドに基づく描き方を紹介しています。ルーミス式の描き方はシンプルで覚えやすく、肖像画や油絵などにも応用できます。

先ずは前、横、斜めの3方向を線のみを使い形を整えていきます。線画が完了した後、トーンやディテールをつけていき、徐々と実際の人物の顔にしていきます。最終的にはマックス先生本人の顔になります！
