there in the vital information section, you can see bungie's policy on game exploits, in addition, you can look at the past 6 years of destiny and how bungie has responded to glitches and their use in the past. To give you a brief idea of some glitches we will take a short trip down memory lane: in vault of glass, atheon, the final raid boss, was able to be pushed off the map, completely skipping the encounter. Players were not banned for using this, but it was fixed eventually. At oracles and templar, players used to sit up top so that they wouldnt have to fight the enemies, similar to atheon, this was not bannable, but it was eventually fixed. In various nightfalls, for example winters run, there were numerous "cheese spots" which players used to easily damage the boss while remaining relatively safe. Just like the vog glitches, most if not all of these were patched. In crotas end, you used to be able to stand on top of a lamp, wait for it to explode, then it would launch you further along in the abyss encounter, skipping the majority of the fight. Alternatively, you could stand on top of a rock near the start and jump up to an area very close to the end, again skipping most of the fight. At the end of abyss, you could stand on top of one of the rocks to avoid all of the enemies aside from a single ogre which you would kill to survive which skipped the intended challenge of the encounter. The rock at the end was never patched, but the other two things were. At bridge, players could either climb high up onto the castle or die and have a player self res both of which would despawn the ads and allow the encounter to be completely much more easily. Bungie attempted to patch this many times, they added death barriers so it would be harder to jump across without raising the bridge, they added more death barriers, but when that didnt work, they completely reworked the encounter so that you would need to bring 5 swords across to beat it. At crota, you used to be able to unplug your ethernet or close your game after downing crota to get an infinite damage phase which was later patched. In kings fall entrance, you could swap weapons right as you slammed the ball to greatly extend the time remaining before the second ball was required to be slammed. At ships, you could jump across the entire thing by titan flying with a sword and twilight. At totems, you could sword swing into the damage field which would prevent you from taking damage from the field (similar to the frost glitch in dsc). There was an infinite super glitch that involved getting on a sparrow and even people who used it in crucible werent banned. In wrath of the machine, you could go out of the map to get the raid chests solo which still works even now. I've gotten bored of typing, but I think the point is pretty clear. Bungie does not consider using exploits cheating, and seeing as bungie is the highest authority on this game, that makes exploiting not cheating. The end.
