ISOLATION OF DNA
DNA is the short name of Deoxyribose nucleic acid. DNA is present in every living cell either plant or animal. The role of DNA has been proved in the transfer of DNA from one generation to another. but to demonstrate the structure of DNA to first-year students of B.Pharmacy and biotechnology we have to isolate the DNA from any given sample. The sample may be- Cabbage, Tomato, Potato, Cauliflower, papaya, and many more. The crushing in the process of DNA isolation from the sample is done to allow the breakage of cells so as to salt and detergent may penetrate inside it and may extract the DNA from the inner cell. the heat is provided to increase the penetration power and also to enhance the outcome of DNA from a sample.

Isolation of DNA from papaya and Onion is one of the common, simple yet important practical in biotechnology student of Bachelor in pharmacy. this practical involves the following materials-

1- Salt to isolate DNA from papaya
2- Liquid detergent isolate DNA from papaya
3- Papaya to isolate DNA from papaya
