5v to 50v l Boost converter using 555 timer
Boost converter is the circuit which can be used to raise the voltage above the supply voltage to the required value.The working principle is simple,when the current through the inductor is abruptly changed, it develops voltage across itself,this voltage adds up to the supply voltage.Resulting output voltage is always greater than supply voltage.Output voltage is function of frequency,indu
ctance and duty cycle for which transistor is turned on.
555 timer is used in the design to produce output signal for switching transistor. It produces output frequency of around 40kHz at duty cycle of around 66%.
WARNING!
Dont load the output with anything that drives current more than few tenths of milliamperes. this circuit is not designed for such applications.use BD138 transistor for medium power applications.
