Chinese Money = Canadian Homes

There are a lot of Chinese buying homes on the west coast of Canada. I live in Nanaimo a 1.5 hour ferry ride from Vancouver so I see it in my neighborhood. The Chinese buyers are driving the cost of properties up even after they are taxed another 15% just for being a foreigner. Just think a million dollar house for a Canadian is a million plus 150000 more for a Chinese person. This doesn't seem to deter them from buying more. Go figure. Maybe they know something that we don't.
