If you have testicular pain, it could be caused by tension in your pelvic floor.
What’s the pelvic floor? It’s a group of muscles from the pubic bone all the way to the tailbone. The muscles in this area could be holding tension and causing you pain.
If you hold tension over weeks, months or even years in one area, the muscles become tense and nerves become compressed.
How do you hold tension like this in the pelvic floor? It might be caused by sports injuries, postural habits, stress, anxiety, tension or holding abdominals tight. This can create tension in the pelvic floor and you may not even know it.
From holding this tension, over time these muscles can become taut. It can compress around blood vessels and nerves and cause pain, burning, tightening and/or pain in the testicular area.
The other thing that can goes along with this is any type of myofascial or fascial tightness and the alignment of the pelvis.
If you’re in the Philadelphia-area, visit our website www.rebalancept.com for more information or to schedule a complimentary phone consultation. If you’re not in the area but are seeking a recommendation, contact us and we can help you find a professional in your area.
