Welcome to Mipon where we bring to you the anime life from Japan. So, today, we'll be visiting some real-life locations of Tenki no Ko, more popularly known in English as Weathering with You. It's an animated movie that we absolutely love because it really resonated with us as foreigners who've recently started living in Tokyo. If you're new to the channel, we make a lot of videos like this one of real-life anime locations, anime cafés, and stuff like that.

If you enjoy that kind of stuff, then please subscribe. It will really help us to create more content for you. So, let's start on with the tour. So Shinjuku is a very popular location that features heavily in both Weathering with You and Your Name which are the two latest and most popular movies from Makoto Shinkai who's in charge of making those movies.

It's actually also a great place to start with our tour because some of the most interesting locations of the movie are quite close by and we're also starting at the same place that Hodaka starts when he arrives in Tokyo in the movie so we'll just follow his trail and see some interesting places. So, if you remember, this is actually the first place that Hodaka manages to stay when he arrives in Tokyo.

This is a manga café. As you can see, it's open 24 hours so you can book a small booth to access the computer or read some manga and you can sleep in it if you want. There's quite a few of them around Tokyo, and it's those kind of small jewels of moe culture that you can find around the city.

So, now, we're going to actually go and have lunch at the next location, which is really nearby, just two minutes' walk. Don't worry about it. We'll leave in the description below a link to all the different places that we'll be visiting so you don't get lost if you want to do the same trip that we're doing here today.

Actually, it's a bit grey and cloud weather today so a perfect day to do a Weathering with You tour. The region around Shinjuku station is called Kabukicho. Shinjuku because Shinjuku is the name of the word itself. There are rumors…you will hear a lot of people saying that Kabukicho is not safe at night or anything because they do have a lot of shady business sometimes going on there at night but actually it's fine.

Nobody will assault you or anything at night. There's still a lot of people. Shinjuku is very busy at any time of day and there's a lot of people going to karaoke and singing and everything. It's a great place to visit and there's a ton of anime locations here. As you can see, here is of course the famous TOHO Cinema with the Godzilla on top of it.

What used to be here, it was the most important building in the movie, which is this building, the old industrial building with the shrine on top. Next to it, you can see how it used to look like in real life. No shrine on it, of course. But, unfortunately, in late August just after the movie came out, they started demolition on the building.

So, we're close to Kagurazaka Station now following Hodaka's adventure in Tokyo. He ends up here looking for K&A Planning offices where he's looking to find Suga-san. If you remember, Suga-san who gave him his business card when they got off the boat trip that's brought Hodaka to Tokyo.

But, while looking for Suga-san, instead of finding him, he came into contact with one big great pair of boobies. As you can see, they repainted the façade so it's a little bit harder to distinguish now what it looks like, but this is indeed Suga-san's office and where Hodaka is living for a while. As you can see, it's got a very similar architecture. It's on a slope road.

It's got the stairs going down, which you would expect to flood in heavy rain, but it's on a much smaller scale. Of course, not as much plants and not as decorated as it is in the movie. We're in a very residential street right now. There's not much to see around here.

And it's quite far from Shinjuku and Yoyogi and where most of the other locations are. I wouldn't recommend to come here unless you're a hardcore fan of Weathering with You.
