Making a Box to Hold Chess Pieces
This box is made of walnut and has solid brass hardware and a green felt liner. The hardware is from Brusso and I used a danish oil finish. The outer dimensions of the box are roughly 14" x 7" x 4.25". The top and bottom panels are book matched and the sides have a 4 sided grain match.
This was my first time installing mortised hinges and a mortised latch. The process wasn't too difficult after working on a few test pieces to perfect the fit. If you have any questions about the build, feel free to ask in the comments. Thanks for watching!
