SOT, Natashe, topless muse candidate (in Portuguese): "When we fight for the right to be topless, it's not only for the liberation to be topless on Rio de Janeiro's beaches, it's more than that, it's the liberation of women and acceptance as a whole. The essence of the contest is that women can accept themselves as they are."

A disabled woman with a neurodegenerative disorder competing to be Rio de Janeiro's next "topless muse" defended the right to bare her breasts, Tuesday. Asserting she is "beautiful, sensual and desirable" enough to take part in the contest, 32-year-old Natashe Iamaya underlined the importance of womens rights in her desire to appear in the contest.
Pointing out that she refuses to be judged as the stereotypical wheel-chair bound "sad person" who remains indoors because of her condition, Natasche argued the "essence" of the competition revolves around women being able to "accept" themselves and their bodies "as they are."
Finally, she said the conversation surrounding nudity and the female body are at the forefront of debates surrounding female "liberation."
