Black and Asian - Jet Li and Aaliyah

My tribute to the late and beautiful Aaliyah, and Jet Li, in Romeo Must Die.

Black women and Asian men are probably the two most poorly and unfairly treated people in today's Western media pop-culture (and in everyday life). I've always had a very strong opinion about this subject and hope that the day is coming when the Asian male and Black female can be portrayed in a more favorable light (I won't get into it here).

The more freely-operated mediums like the internet and youtube, have helped greatly, but unfortunately our television programming (and still in the movies) which is dominated and controlled to disseminate and maintain the status quo and popular ideals, continues to treat the Asian male and Black female as mostly secondary parties of interest.

Anyways, it took me a long time to finally decide to finish this video and add it to my growing collection of tribute/dedication music videos. The world sorely misses someone like Aaliyah.
