Sheri Lynn S Tug Boat assist Amy Lynn D Tug Boat with Dowden Spirit Barge

The Doornekamp Team is Dredging a channel into the Ashbridges Bay Yacht Club. The land crew puts the dredged sand onto McKeil Marine’s barge and the Sheri Lynn S tug moves the loaded barge out to deeper water to transload onto a large Doornekamp flatdeck barge. The Amy Lynn D tug delivers the loaded barge back to Picton Terminals for offloading. Dredge sand is clean and used for multiple purposes from construction projects to winter road maintenance.

Each barge load contains approximately 2000 MT of sand which saves hundreds of truckloads from Toronto roadways and Hwy 401. 

Marine shipping is the environmentally responsible choice. Marine shipping reduces Greenhouse Gas emissions and roadway congestion and reduces highway wear & tear by removing thousands of truck miles from roadways annually.
