Coronavirus: Saskatchewan health officials warn province is nearing ICU capacity | FULL

The Saskatchewan Health Authority says nearly all intensive care units in the province are close to 100 per cent capacity.

Officials say because of the explosion of COVID-19 cases in Saskatoon, there are only three ICU beds available in the city.

The health authority says it has a plan to create more hospital capacity if COVID-19 case numbers keep rising.

That includes adding more hospital beds dedicated to COVID-19 patients and bringing in more staff to do contact tracing.

The health authority is operating drive-thru testing sites in different cities, including Regina, where it says wait times vary day-to-day from minimal waiting to more than three hours.
