What Children In Care Want

With funding from NHS England, BNSSG Clinical Commissioning Group, Bristol City Council and Barnardo's have been working together to pilot Personal Health Budgets that promote mental health and well-being for Children in Care and Care Leavers. Young people have chosen to use their budgets on a range of things that help to manage emotions, provide a creative outlet, reduce loneliness and social isolation , Devon are working to ensure that more young people able to have "Different Conversations" and listened to in order to create their own personalised plans and Personal Health Budgets that better meet their needs. The Wellbeing Project is currently working with over 160 children and young people in care across Devon County Council and Plymouth City Council , all of whom have differing levels of mental health support needs.
