20 Ways to Manage Art Burnout
After a school exams, drawing challenges, or any big event in life, it's easy for our creative energy to get zapped, leaving us feeling burned out! Don't worry, you can recover! FIND OUT MORE:
20 Ways to Help Manage Artist Burnout
First, identify which type of burnout you are expiencing:
1. Overload 2. Lack of Development 3. Neglect
Then, look to some helpful ways to address that burned out feeling:
1. Take a step back and reflect on your current status - are you okay?
2. Monotony - take a break from a monotonous routine
3. Change Your Oxygen - change your environment & get fresh air
4. Exercise - even just a walk outside or stretching can help
5. Technology Break - more closely monitor your technology time
6. Change Your Diet - try a new way of eating for a day or so
7. Explore New Visuals - museums, galleries, and even coffee shops
8. Read - if you read, try a new genre; if you don't try something easy
9. Sleep - get those sleep patterns in check and rest better
10. Organize Your Space - renew your sense of space and habitat
11. Give (charity or volunteer) - make it all about someone else
12. Assess the Unnecessary - reduce unnecessary things you do
13. Manage Your Time - give yourself time limitations for tasks
14. Reconnect with Old Friends - create a plan to connect with friends
15. Learn to Say "NO" - saying no to others means saying yes to you!
16. Stop Striving for Perfection - perfection is unattainable
17. Create Self-Boundaries - understand your priorities & nurture them
18. List It Out - use lists to track progress and daily activity
19. Write a Letter to Yourself - sharing positive insight to your future self
20. Reduce Life into "Fun Sizes" - flexibility for great expectations
