Andriy Klepikov: Two Years of Resilience
Andriy Klepikov from APH on Two Years of Resilience: Alliance for Public Health's Impact in Ukraine and in EECA countries.
The full-scale invasion two years ago demonstrated to the whole world the extraordinary courage and resilience of Ukrainians. And as we look back on the endless February, we at Alliance for Public Health are very pleased to have become even more flexible, efficient and influential. In 2023 alone, APH did the most in all 23 years of existence, expanding the scope by 40% while maintaining core focus and responding to the challenges of war. Alliance for Public Health`s humanitarian aid extended to a staggering 436,000 individuals – a number equaling the population of entire cities like Mykolaiv or Mariupol in Ukraine or almost the size of The Hague in the Netherlands or Nuremberg in Germany. Imagine: an entire city, covered by our support.
Innovation in the wartime. Also, during war rages, the Alliance for Public Health remains a crucial partner for the state, making a significant contribution to the national response to HIV, tuberculosis, and hepatitis. We harness the power of AI to pioneer prevention programs and bring mobile healthcare to liberated areas. It introduces new AI-based approaches to innovative prevention programmes and mobile basic medicine in the de-occupied territories. Continues to influence the introduction of sustainable HIV services by leading the largest regional SoS 2.0 partnership in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
