Elephant Toothpaste Volcano
In this video, we first construct a volcano out of paper mache. We then simulate an eruption with elephant toothpaste. Our first volcano is smaller, using only 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and yeast as our catalyst. Our 2nd volcano is much bigger, and so is the eruption. We use 35% Hydrogen Peroxide and Potassium Iodide as our catalyst - far more epic.
Recipe for paper mache:
-1 part flour to 1 part water. Mix thoroughly. The consistency should be not too pastey, and not too runny. Adding salt makes for a stronger hold.
Ingredients for 1st Eruption
-Yeast, 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, water, food coloring, dish soap
Ingredients and Links for 2nd Eruption:
-Potassium Iodide, 35% Hydrogen Peroxide, Dish Soap, Food Coloring, Water
