Periodontitis Dysbiosis and Inflammation in active disease. A neglected parasitic disease

The most common microbe present during active periodontal disease is the parasite Entamoeba gingivalis. E. gingivalis is highly motile, has phagocytic abilities and exhibits typical pathogen characteristics. It is associated with destruction of the maxillary bone. Its presence is a constant in periodontal diseases as we have described since 1995. Its elimination ensures healing and cure of chronic and aggressive forms of periodontitis. Presence of E. gingivalis has therefore important medical and epidemiological consequences.
Apart from the rather obvious comment that E. gingivalis is scavenger of cell debris, the author has never seen it consume a leucocyte nucleus that just happened to be lying around. One parasite is generally surrounded by about 100 White Blood Cells. It stings the white blood cell to numb it and then feed readily on its nucleus, leaving a denatured cell which will pour out its enzymatic content to finally destroy the supporting tissues of the tooth.
In aggressive form of periodontitis we also find a second pathogen parasite called Trichomonas tenax (30% of active destructive disease). T. tenax has been shown to be pathogen in a same manner as Trichomonas vaginalis from 2015 studies.
Our dense urban lifestyles make the transmission of this organism easily accomplished through direct social contact, air born particles and through contaminated cooking utensils or water. It may also play a key role in serious, debilitating and incapacitating disturbances of the general health. Its adverse impact on the human race will remain unappreciated unless it is fully investigated as a specific agent of oral disease, and as a general factor of systemic disease.
Ask your dentist and periodontist to see your dysbiotic biofilm on microscope and get rid of those parasites as well as those omnipresent inflammatory cells. It is a very simple examination to complete, no harm, no pain, just minutes to see the real root of your periodontal disease.
