Epson Printhead Cleaning: Something different to look for.

Hi, ok, there are 100's of clips about cleaning Epson print heads, involving all sorts of gizmo's, gadgets and snake oil cleaning kits.
But, there is one area of the print head mechanism that seems to have been overlooked.
That is where the ink cartridge mates to the print head. It has to be an airtight seal, otherwise you get poor or no print.
There are 4 spikes in the print head that you push the cartridges onto, yes? Well at the base of those spikes is a small rubber O ring, Grommet, Gasket, whatever. If it has crud on it, then there won't be an airtight seal. So, watch this and give it a go. It's better than tossing the printer in the bin. Jeff
