Welcome to the Urban Survivor channel and in this video we’re going to be taking a look at new Nitecore Tini 2 keychain flashlight. A lot of people are really excited about this light so I’m glad to have the chance to show it off to you guys. Nitecore was kind enough to send out this awesome little light which has an oled display, two LEDs and a maximum output of 500 lumens. Before we check out this light and get to the beam shots please give this video a thumbs up and make sure you are subscribed to the channel for more flashlight reviews like this one.
Alright so this is the nitecore tini 2 which is an upgrade to the original tini which had a maximum output of 380 lumens. As you can see it has a nice black aluminum alloy finish and it’s also IP54 rated and impact resistant up to 1 meter. Here we have the OLED display which will jump back to in a little bit, the power button and the button that cycles through the different modes, then on top we have the dual osram p8 LEDs. On the side there’s a small plastic cover which protects the USB-c port and finally on the bottom there’s a small loop for attaching a keychain.
Here it is side by side with the new nitecore TIP SE which came out in 2020 as well and as you can see it’s about 30% smaller than the TIP SE. Here it is next to a $10 bill for scale. This light weighs 18.3 grams or 0.64 ounces.
Inside the body there’s a built in 280 mah battery which provides a maximum runtime of 60 hours. To charge the light, all you have to do is remove the tiny usb cover and plug it in to a usb power source. We’re going to charge it using a usb-c to usb-c cable but it also works with a usb to usb-c cable. The OLED display also shows you the the battery charging status which is really nice. Charging time for the Tini 2 is approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. The light also has advanced power cut off technology which allows is to be stored for up to 365 days on standby while still holding a charge. This is great because if you plan to keep it stored inside of a backpack or something you can rely on it to still work when you need it.
Now let’s talk about more about the OLED display. As soon as you turn the light on, the display will turn on and give you some useful information including the brightness level that the light is currently set to and the remaining runtime. Knowing precisely how much runtime you have is an incredibly useful feature in my opinion and it can really help you understand how you are utilizing the battery life. This is really important, especially if you are depending on this light and you don’t have another flashlight for backup.
This is a chart from Nitecore showing the different runtimes and outputs for the different modes of the flashlight. It has a maximum output of 500 lumens and an 89 meter throw on high and a max runtime of 60 hours on the ultralow 1 lumen setting. There’s 5 different brightness modes you can choose from and to turn the light on, all you need to do is push the power button and you can cycle through the different modes using the button above. This light is loaded with a handful of different user modes and it also gives you the ability to set it to lockout mode which helps to prevent accidental activation inside your pockets.
Overall I am really impressed with the Tini 2. As you can see It’s really small and bright which make it excellent for keychain carry and the OLED display provides a lot of useful information to the user about the brightness levels, settings, charging and most importantly remaining runtimes. The 500 lumen mode is plenty bright and it’s really nice to have a 1 lumen firefly setting with a max runtime of 60 hours.
