SNS 275: 16" Gould & Eberhardt Shaper

I spent the weekend hanging out with my friend Lance Baltzley in his 26 Acre Maker shop! Lance recently bought a 16" G&E shaper and he and I work to get it put back together after Lance did some cleaning and scraping on the ram ways, then proceed to make the first cuts with the shaper in his shop. I help grind up some high speed tool bits and we do some testing on cast iron and steel. Such a nice machine!

The Good of the Land Festival is coming up this October 26th 2019 in Temple Texas and will be held at the Texas Early Days Tractor & Engine Association. Also, the following weekend November 1st and 2nd will be the Soule Steam Festival in Meridian Mississippi at the Mississippi Industrial Heritage Museum. I plan to be there on November 2nd all day and invite my viewer out for this event to visit. It's an awesome place to see! Full line powered machine shop on display as well as steam engines. Other YouTube creators will be there including James Kilroy, Clarke Easterling of Windy Hill Foundry, and Gary Cude.
