Ivanovici 'Danube Waves' Waltz - Henry Krips conducts
From a delightful selection of Viennese Waltzes we hear Ion Ivanovici's tuneful 'Donauwellen' ('Danube Waves' or 'Waves of the Danube') in a sparkling 1958 recording made by the Philharmonia Promenade Orchestra under the baton of Henry Krips, the younger brother of Josef Krips. Note that the melody was used for "The Anniversary Song", a Top Ten hit for Al Jolson in 1947.
