Building a Hangar | Part 3

The purpose of this phase of the project is to locate the position of the hangar, level the area where the slab will go, making sure it’s at an elevation which will put the slab at a specific elevation once poured—a few inches above the taxiway which will allow for runoff of rainwater—and then dig the trench to the correct depth for the stem wall, providing plenty of working room for setting the forms into which the concrete will be poured. The slab pour will be a completely separate pour, coming after the stem wall has cured and its forms removed.
