This is an update of information for the hundreds of you that have emailed me asking for more info about the building. First off I will not reveal the location as by keeping it secret helps to preserve the building as the more people that know about it the more likely that someone will graffitti or damage it.
That said here are a few answers to some of your questions:
The building is in England.
It was built over a period of several years starting in the 1980's.
It was initally started as a shed for the farmer to store hay and other supplies but over time he continued adding to it as the farmer was also an artist.
In total it took 11 years until the farmer stopped building it. It was never finished because the farmer sold up, due to a quarry opening up nearby and he did not want to live with the noise of big lorries all day long.
It is not a building that was ever lived in but the room with stained glass windows called 'The Hermitage' was used by the farmer for wine and poetry evenings with his friends. He also used to sleep in the upstairs area during lambing season.
The stained glass windows represent the four seasons, winter, spring, summer, autumn and the four elements, earth, air, fire and water.
The building was constructed by initially using traditional dry stone walling methods followed by pouring concrete down the back of the walls for strength.
To give a sense of scale, the doors are normal sized doors. This is not a miniture house, it is full size.
The house was not built for a movie set and has not been in any movie. It was built purely as a hobby and a labour of love.
In a newspaper interview the farmer said "I just got a bit carried away!"
In response to all the comments about the turning sideways of the camera. I agree, it is annoying and makes viewing awkward. Explanation.... It was the first time this vid cam was used and it was thought that the camera would self correct when viewed if turned sideways to give a wider shot. Cameramans mistake!! :)
