Reminder: Apple Is Still The Best At Making Apple Watch Straps - Solo Loop Review

We finally got our Silicone and Braided Solo Loops. Are they any good? How do they compare against Apple's own Sport Band and Sport Loops?

Quite well actually.

At this point, the Braided Nylon Solo Loops is my favourite. It's like wearing a bracelet! Or a scrunchie according to Val.

We also compare the Silicone Solo Loop against some of the knockoffs that we used in this video: https://youtu.be/l0uWl7Jk-28

Our current favourite non-Apple branded watch band: https://youtu.be/JqdCgDT7irs

Just a few things of note:

-Silicone Solo Loop is dimensionally larger than the Sport Band but about 40 percent lighter

-Silicone Solo Loops will work with every series of Apple Watch, Braided Solo Loops will fit BUT the lug is a little too large and will show on the Series 1-3

-The Braided Loop is easy enough to move around during a workout. Times where I would have to adjust the Sport Loop, I didn't have to with the Braided Solo Loop

-The Silicone Loop gets as sweaty as the Sport Band. The extra flexibility of the loop helps with exercises that involves a lot of wrist movement.

-Day-to-day usage is quite nice. It doesn't feel like I'm wearing a watch strap instead it feels like I'm wearing a bracelet

-Typing with the Solo Loops is a joy because you don't even notice the clasps like you would with other straps

-The Solo Loop despite being a less dense, doesn't stain easily. Our fake bands have a similar stretchiness to Solo Loops and they absorb color like nobodies business

-The Solo Loop is very stretchy. We couldn't break ours

-The Braided Loop is very strong. We were able to lift 100lbs with it

-Both bands after the stretch test went back to their original lengths despite being longer right after the test. After our stress test, the Solo Loop was about 15.2mm and the Braided Solo Loop was 15.6. 12 hours later, the Silicone Solo Loop was back down to 15mm. We had to wash and dry the Braided Solo Loop to get the length back to 15mm (but it got there).

-From a scratch perspective, the Silicone Solo Loop wasn't as tough as the Sport Band. This makes sense because it's not as dense.

With all things considered, I'm quite impressed with Apple's new Solo Loops.
