Learn how to use the 1983 Roland TR 909 / TR 09 Drum Machine
Here, I run you through all there is to get up and running on the infamous Roland TR-909 or TR 09 in 9 minutes and 9 seconds!
** For best results watch FULL SCREEN in 1080p HD **
Additional functions:
The "Accent" adds more velocity to any of the sounds that reside on the same step number. Add 'Accents' in using the same method as any of the other instruments. The "Cartridge/Enter" key assumes the "Accent" when the 909 is playing in "Pattern Edit" mode. Hold down "Instrument Select" and the "Cartridge/Enter" key (located near the 'Master Volume' rotary knob. You can then 'roll in' the accent strength with the "Accent" rotary knob located upper far left, left of the 'Bass Drum' section.
MIDI Triggering: Default MIDI Channel 10. On your MIDI Keyboard C2 thru C3 will trigger the various kit sounds on the 909. All sounds except 'Accent' are available.
Some of the methods in this clip will also work on other Roland Drum Machines, like the TR 707, 727, 505, 525, 626.
