The tyranny of the curriculum: Shawn Cornally at TEDxEastsidePrep
Shawn Cornally teaches and learns in eastern Iowa where he is primarily concerned with conducting action research in different models of the secondary schooling experience with specific concern towards producing generative and joyful students. He is currently conducting several experiments in this area including: running a school without walls, developing a software suite dedicated to assessment-for-learning, and managing a local media company's efforts to catalyze educational transformation. Shawn has also written for GOOD magazine and Edutopia.org, while blogging his success and failures at ThinkThankThunk.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
