New Motorcycles from Honda & Yamaha = Boring? But... Is Kawasaki stepping up?

The new 2023 Kawasaki ZX-4RR was just released with a four-cylinder engine! Which brings up something we need to talk about... The end of four cylinder motorcycles as we know it with everything from cruiser motorcycle models to sport bikes! Or is it? We have Yamaha dropping more and more inline four models with the R6 being discontinued and replaced with the R7 and Honda has been following suit with the new CB750 Hornet that packs a twin cylinder engine whereas the old Hornet CB600F (known as the CB599 in the USA) but it doesn't stop there! As Honda has stopped making motorcycles with V4 engines too and replacing most of them with parallel-twin engines. Does that mean we're fixing to see the end of bikes like the CBR600RR and CBR650R to be replaced by the new CBR750 that will share an engine with the new Hornet 750 and Transalp 750? Keep in mind, that could also mean the end of the CB650R as it shares the engine with the CBR 650. Does this new 4 cylinder Kawasaki Ninja 400 mean Honda might revive the old days of the CBR250RR / CBR400RR four cylinder models to go to battle with Kawasaki and their ZX-25R and ZX-4R / ZX4RR? The current CBR400R has a twin like the CBR500R that's also shared with the CB500F / CB500X - so if that's the case, they've got a lot of work to do! But let's dive into all of that and more...
