Differentiated Instruction Strategies: Jigsaw and Centers

When faced with a complex subject to teach students, some teachers use the jigsaw approach to make the information more accessible and interesting to their students. Jigsaw, like a puzzle, creates a final product by assembling pieces of information. Students are divided into groups, each student learns a part of the information, and then each member teaches it to the group. Jigsaw can be further differentiated by giving them different content and materials to match various levels of learning readiness.
