THIS is How R2-D2 Knows Grogu! [The Mandalorian Season 2]

The Mandalorian Season 2 Episode 8 (Chapter 16) has finally dropped on Disney+ which means the Season is over.

In this video, we look at a Star Wars Theory to explain how R2-D2 knows Grogu (Baby Yoda i.e. The Child). In Chapter 16, we got to see the blue astromech droid as he showed up alongside Luke Skywalker (de-aged Mark Hamill) to come for Grogu. The theories we look at in this video include references to Yaddle, Yoda, Order 66, Anakin (Darth Vader), the Jedi Temple on Coruscant and more!

As a recap of Chapter 16:

Din Djarin (Mando - Pedro Pascal's character), Cara Dune (Gina Carano), Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) have teamed up to rescue Baby Yoda (The Child - now called Grogu) from Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito) and his Dark Troopers. They get aboard an Imperial Shuttle where Dr Pershing is. They take him hostage as they go to an industrial planet where Bo-Katan Kryze (Katee Sackhoff) and Koska Reeves (Sasha Banks) are drinking at a bar. Boba and Din Djarin convince them to join in the rescue mission. Bo-Katan is after the Darksaber so that she can recapture Mandalore.

They take on the Dark Troopers, Tie-Fighters and Moff Gideon in order to save Baby Yoda (Grogu). As they do so, Luke Skywalker (CGI Mark Hamill) enters with his X-Wing and takes Grogu so that he can be trained in the ways of the Jedi. It is an emotional moment where Mando removes his helmet and promises they'll see each other again. We even get to see R2D2.
