Aluminum Welding Brazing and Soldering Tips and Techniques Using a Hand Held Torch and Muggy Weld
Super Alloy 1 contains cadmium. Aluminum welding, brazing, and soldering are now quick and easy using a simple hand held torch and Super Alloy 1 and Super Alloy 5 premium welding alloys.
Super Alloy 1 is a 350°F aluminum alloy that flows at such a low temperature it can even be used with a heat gun on small aluminum parts. (Indirect heat is recommended). This multi-metal solder will bond to many metals without distortion to the parent metal: pot metal, aluminum (except cast aluminum), steel, copper, brass, bronze, zinc die cast, and pewter--individually or to each other.
Super Alloy 5 is a 600°F aluminum brazing rod and flux kit that bonds aluminum at weld strength. The amazing alloy works synergistically with the powder flux, which transforms to a liquid remove unseen contaminates, and act as an absolute temperature guide--turning to a liquid when the parent metal reaches proper working temperature.
Super Alloy 5 works well on thin aluminum as well as thicker castings. (An oxyacetylene torch is required on heavier aluminum and cast aluminum, aluminum boats and wheels etc).
When using either of these alloys, always wear eye protection and keep your head out of the fume zone.
