SCIENCE MATTERS with Lawrence Krauss (EP08)
In this episode Lawrence describes new discoveries from the farthest reaches of the Universe to interior of the Earth, and finally up to Earth’s surface in five short steps. Beginning with a new exploration of the formation of the earliest galaxies and stars, then to some exciting new results that finally locate almost 90% of the normal matter, made of protons and neutrons, in the universe, resides. From there Lawrence describes the first observation of liquid water vapor in the atmosphere of a distant earth-like planet, and then return to planet earth, where he describes some new observations of the Earth’s deep inner core and its rotation. Concluding with this month’s new atmospheric CO2 reading, demonstrating the unfortunate inexorable constant rise of that greenhouse gas in our atmosphere due to human industrial activity.
