How to Paint Rossi's Helmet Soleluna 2016 With Spray Paint

Hi guys, this is the old video that im talking about on previous video. I paint this helmet in 2016, just using spray paint can,
if you wanna see the process, just watching this video until end. Im sorry if the duration of the video takes to long,
i will made a time code on a pinned comment below this video, you will choose the process you want to watching.

STEP 1

The painting metode im use in this video is different from my previous video "The making of rossi helmet soleluna 2016",
if in previous video i started painting with white base color, in this video i started painting with black base color.

STEP 2

Guys, im not a designer like Sir. Aldo Drudi. I just a noob on airbrushing, and still learning about painting, so i cant design the
soleluna 2016 using photoshop/ corel draw to making vinil sticker or oracal using cutting printer. So all i can do is using my computer
LED screen, to copy the design from picture/ images, and sketch to the paper like this video. I must adjust the size between the picture on screen and my real helmet. Use a bow to making precise circle.

STEP 3

This is a important step, you can get a good result at painting, if you using a right masking tape line. I mean, you can use professional maskingtape such as 3M Brand, or you make your own masking tape line?. I have a wide masking tape here, and i will cut it into lines manually using cutter and cutting mat. To make a curve, The lines wide must be 0.5 mm or less.

STEP 4

Ok guys this is the different between first metode, and second method as I've said before on step 1 is, at 1st method i must making some sketch first on a helmet with white base paint, after that i start masking. But in this method, i making a scetch on a helmet with black base paint color and start masking. First, i must making a sun tails with masking tape, you can stick sketch paper you create before to the helmet to easily making sun tails.

STEP 5

I must print all logo such as AGV, MONSTER Energy, 58, DRUDI PERFORMANCE, 46. To get this logo, just browsing on Google and save the image to computer, and doing editing on my Microsoft office word to get the exact size, so that match to my helmet. Some logo i use just for mold, and some other to making a marking using photocopy paper, and antimosquito cream.

STEP 6

Now all logo's i need was printed, and ready to making a stencil's or mold. Prepare a cutting mat, and just sticking the wide masking tape to the cutting mat, glue the paper with water glue, and stick it to the masking tape. In this step i show you when i making a big 46 number.

STEP 7

To making a bright yellow fluorescent color i must paint my black helmet with white paint first, this is what im talking, about the 2nd method in this video, too much need paint. Wasteful. But is not a big problem for start learning airbrushing, or if you are using a spray gun.

STEP 8

Everytime i finished painting, the most fun part is unmasking, yes, really fun to unmasking your masking tape line, bcoz you wanna see the result, right?? Ofcourse Yeah. Use a cutting pen and small nippers to take off all masking tape lines. After finished unmasking, you will se the black lines in yellow fluorescent color.

STEP 9

This is a difficult process, and need much time to finish all sketch details from Valentino Rossi Helmet Soleluna 2016. To sketch all details, im using pencil to draw the sketch. There is a lot of details guys, so you must be patient to finish the sketch. Please watch carefully the real helmet from the picture, try as closely as possible with the real soleluna helmet.

STEP 10

The next color is dark blue, use your masking tape lines to masking all paint or details that no need to be painted. Follow the sketch details you made from pencil to start masking.

STEP 11

This is cutes color on soleluna 2016, not much details using this color, and its simpel to masking, than when i masking dark blue color. Cz im using spray paint cans, i must cover other color using paper. Spray gently and thin, you must set your distance too from the helmet.

STEP 12 -

See you again guys, ok in this step i mix two different color to made correct color, if i just use one color, the orange color is to dark, so i mix with yellow fluorescent color. You can use this method to other color. Finally all the details is finished.

STEP 17

Prepare your AGV photocopy paper/ printed paper to making a white background stencil for AGV Logo's, this process same as STEP 6, just sticking yourmasking tape to cutting mat, and place/ sticking photo copy paper to masking tape using water glue.

STEP 18

This step same as previous step about how to making 46 or white background for AGV logo stencil or mold, im use 2 different paint too, to create correct monster energy color, green and yellow fluorescent.
