Our Avenger was Destroyed in a Crash

In our previous video, we were enjoying our life on the road with an RV. Today we want to talk to you about something important while RVing. If you take nothing else away from this video, make sure you always wear safety restraints like seatbelts for people and safety restraints for pets, and make sure that NO ONE is inside a travel trailer while it's in motion. Here’s our story. On April 7, 2021, we started our day out like any other. We had woken up in the Avenger while staying at a Boondockers Welcome site in Georgia. After thanking our hosts, we packed up and headed towards South Carolina. Along the way, we stopped at the Welcome Center just inside the Georgia border. We were told that there was a working dump station and we wanted to take advantage of that. It wasn’t working though, so we continued along Interstate 20.

There was some construction just inside South Carolina, so we were going slow. Then we had a slight incline followed by a slight decline. After over 10,000 miles, four months, and numerous hills, something happened that was unexpected. We don’t know if we were hit by a passing car or a strong gust of wind, but the trailer was pushed to the right causing us to lose control and crash.

Thankfully, no one was injured in the crash and we were able to keep the truck from flipping over. We feel extremely blessed for these reasons. We wish that it hadn’t happened, but we know it could have been a lot worse accident and are grateful it wasn't.

What this means is that our traveling is going to have to change until we can figure out what our next step is going to be. Don’t worry, we are still planning to travel and make as many great videos as we can along the way.

There will never be another travel trailer like the Avenger was. We hope that our next RV will be a safe haven where we can find a new home to fill with more happy memories and continue to take our supporters with us as we explore more of this beautiful world.
