Whose future is this? : Stuart Candy at TEDxChristchurch
Stuart Candy is a futurist helping people "think and feel about things that haven't happened yet." Enabling people to play on a mental jungle gym of possible worlds, helping them access unique insights and explore each other's insights. Currently the assistant professor in the faculty of design at Ontario College of Art and Design University and California College of the Arts, as well as a research fellow at The Long Now Foundation, Stuart is exploring the communication of scenarios and engaging people in anticipatory democracies. Combining real world impact, intense creativity, and a whole heap of fun, he draws people into creative thinking about possible and preferable futures.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
