Here I present a series of colour photographs of the great port city of Vladivostok., literally meaning "Ruler of the East"! Located in Primorsky Krai. The city is centred around the Golden Horn Bay, and is close to the border with China and North Korea.
The city is the home port of the Russian Pacific Fleet and is the the largest Russian port on the Pacific Ocean. As a consequence, Vladivostok was closed to foreigners during the Soviet years.
These photographs are of great historical interest as they show the city as it was during the "Closed" years!

I like Vladivostok very much. It is a fine city.....
